Charles Watson
Charles Watson joined the Action News Team as a reporter in October of 2023, an exciting move, especially since his mother often referred to him as "Action News" when he was a curious boy growing up in Philadelphia.

Prior to joining the Action News team, Charles was an Atlanta-based news correspondent for a national outlet. Charles was responsible for monitoring and responding to news, not only in Georgia, but in seven other states across the southeast. As a correspondent, he was on the ground reporting on multiple national stories, including the deadly condo collapse in Surfside, Fla., the beating death of Tyre Nichols at the hands of Memphis police, the search for Gabby Petito, the murder trial and guilty verdict of disgraced South Carolina lawyer, Alex Murdaugh, the funeral of Lisa Marie Presley, and countless tornadoes and hurricanes.

Before calling Atlanta home, Charles was stationed in Jackson, Miss. where he worked as a Multimedia Reporter. There, Charles enterprised stories and produced reports for online publications and local news stations across the country. He also covered 2020 Presidential candidates as they tried to win over voters. Charles has also worked as a reporter covering news in the New York/New Jersey region. He got his start on the Delmarva Peninsula at a local news station in Lewes, Del.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Charles is a former student of Meredith Elementary School in Queen Village, a proud member of Central High School's 269th graduating class, and an alumnus of Temple University where he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism.

When he's not reporting news, Charles enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys exploring hidden gems in the city with his wife and trying new restaurants. Rooting for the Eagles, Sixers, Phillies, Flyers and Union keep him pretty busy as well.
