Briana Smith joined the Action News team in May 2023 as a general assignment reporter. Briana comes to Philadelphia via the Pa. Turnpike, having spent the last two years in Pittsburgh. She holds both master's and bachelor's degrees in journalism from Hofstra University.

Before moving to the Steel City, Briana was uncovering the truth in New York State. She was a reporter and fill-in anchor for Spectrum News in Syracuse and Binghamton. Briana has covered a multitude of topics ranging from politics to crime to the New York State Fair. Briana loves to focus on stories involving veterans, youth and recovery.
