Corey Davis
Corey Davis joined the Action News Team in August 2019 and is excited to be living in the northeast for the first time.

Corey came to 6abc from Tampa, Florida. While in the Sunshine State, he covered national stories from high-profiled criminal cases and politics to record-breaking hurricanes.

Corey has been on the front lines of a number of natural disasters, but Hurricane Michael stands out the most. He was one of the first reporters on-air to show the country the extensive damage and need for help in areas around Panama City.

Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Corey is a Southerner at heart. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, he spent a few years as a theater manager and later studied at Trident Technical College where he refreshed his production and camera skills.

Corey started a part-time video editing job at WCSC while still working as a theater manager, and was soon promoted to a full-time photographer. Finally, he landed a shot at being on-air.

Corey spent two years shooting, editing and writing his own stories as a "one-man-band," living out his dream with the same reporters and anchors he grew up watching.

From there, he moved on to a station in Greenville, South Carolina where he got his first taste of covering snow storms and wildfires.

Corey is a music lover and played a number of instruments, including clarinet and baritone, in the USC marching band. He is also a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
